Prime Minister Edouard Philippe on Monday blasted the "little gang of imbeciles and irresponsible" who Saturday targeted policemen and a circus tent during an evening of urban violence in Chanteloup-les-Vignes, in the Yvelines. The security forces wiped out projectiles or mortar fire and the city's circus tent was set on fire. Guillaume Peltier, Vice-President Delegates Republicans, responds to the Prime Minister at the microphone Europe 1 Sonia Mabrouk and discusses urban violence.
"When words hide the evils, this poses a problem in our Republic," he denounces "We are dealing in most parts of our Republic, to a minority indeed, to about ten individuals organized in the form of mafia delinquent, who daily test the Republic, who live in a feeling of impunity.And worse, and I come from a working-class neighborhood, ruin the life of the overwhelming majority who wish to live in freedom and dignity, with respect laws."
