The Police Federation in the Mitt region now demands, among other things, to hire administrators who relieve the police work.

244 police from the Mitt region answered the questionnaire. It shows that 45 per cent of the Mittel region's police have been subjected to threats, violence or harassment in the past year. Police in the investigation also state that the violence has become more common in the last five years.

- Generally speaking, violence has become more severe in society, we have a completely different social image than we have had before, says Eva Arvidsson, chair of the police union Gävleborg.

Family members are threatened and harassed

In addition, a tenth of the contributors state that their families are subjected to threats, violence or harassment.

- We want to strengthen the identity protection of police officers so that they cannot be sought out outside the work, says Eva Arvidsson.

She continues:

- We see, after all, that the threats and violence and harassment of police officers increase when they are out of service. For example, when they are at home with the family.
