The 46-year-old was charged with preparing two acts of terror against Sweden with chemicals. The three were arrested in a marked strike in Strömsund and Akalla in April 2018.

Sentenced for terrorist financing

The district court considered it proved that the 46-year-old was in contact with the terrorist organization IS and procured chemicals and sentenced him for terrorist preparations. In court he was freed from those suspicions, but was convicted of terrorist financing.

Was taken into custody by Säpo

After the verdict, he was taken into custody by the Security Police, who wanted him deported because he is considered a threat to the security of the kingdom. The man appealed and now the government has made the final decision.

Cannot be expelled

However, he cannot be expelled at the moment because he is threatened in his home country. He is therefore, like the six radical Islamists who were detained during the Säpo offensive last spring, released from the repository.
