A scene in the movie "Joker" seems to have etched into the memory of many fans. Wearing red wine costume and clown makeup, the Joker, played by Joaquin Phoenix, dances down a stone staircase - and now New York tourists want to do the same, reports The New York Times and AP News Agency.

Pictures from the stairs in the Bronx district of New York show how fans pose like the film's protagonist, sometimes in full Joker fashion.

"It feels iconic"

Oliver Bonallack is visiting from Brigthon, England. He tells the AP that it is "very immersive" to be at the stairs.

- You never really get to experience a movie in reality. It feels iconic, he says.

However, Cathyrine Spencer, who lives in the area, does not like the road of the recent crowd in her neighborhood.

"Every day when I go down the steps I have to go through a flood of people," she tells AP.

The stairs are located on Shakespeare Avenue, a few blocks from Yankee Stadium. It has been marked on Google maps under the name "Joker stairs".
