It is a mixture of different events which means that you have to postpone on the opening date about eight months:

- Now in the spring we discovered that the curve at southern Söre needed to be widened to make it traffic-safe, says Samuel Nilsson, project manager of the Swedish Transport Administration.

The bridge was too low-needed to be raised

In 2018, in the midst of ongoing production, the bridge had to be raised between 50 and 70 centimeters:

"At that time, we had discovered a number of different water level scenarios, which meant that especially during the production period, when we were building the bridge, there was an increased risk of incidents and accidents during the construction phase," says Samuel Nilsson, project manager of the Swedish Transport Administration.

SEK 130 million costs the bridge

Building a new bridge has been discussed for many years. The existing one is in poor condition and only limited traffic is allowed to run on it.

It costs around SEK 130 million to build the new bridge:

- The new bridge will be two-lane, have a pedestrian and bicycle path and receive lighting. We aim to open the new bridge for traffic the week after midsummer, says Samuel Nilsson, project manager of the Swedish Transport Administration.
