According to witnesses, who reported the facts to the local media, 5 protesters were killed by government security forces in an attempt to suppress ongoing protests.

Iraqi security forces opened fire on protesters while they were besieging the state TV headquarters in the capital Baghdad, killing five. Always witnesses report that there would also be dozens of wounded.

Iraqi security forces intervened against anti-government protesters in Baghdad, a few hours after four demonstrators were shot dead outside the Iranian consulate in the holy city of Kerbala.

It is the last serious episode of blood that accompanies ongoing protests, characterized by roadblocks and a civil disobedience campaign carried out by protesters who accuse the Iraqi government of corruption and cronyism.
