In the Good Herderkerk in Hoogmade, South Holland, a big fire rages on Monday. Due to the 'risk of falling', homes and a school around the church have been evacuated. The fire brigade has since given up the church and is trying to prevent the fire from spreading.

The fire started around 12.40 pm. A large part of the roof has collapsed and the steeple of the church has gone up in the flames. That the church is completely collapsing cannot be excluded, reports the fire department.

Emergency services are currently in large numbers to get the situation under control. The emergency services are urging not to come and watch the fire.
