Prime Minister Edouard Philippe on Monday blasted the "little gang of imbeciles and irresponsible" who Saturday targeted policemen and a circus tent during an evening of urban violence in Chanteloup-les-Vignes, in the Yvelines.
An "intense" effort in the fight against drug trafficking
"We obviously deplore these stupid and violent acts (...) I believe that in truth it is a small band of fools and irresponsible who think that breaking everything is a way to make things happen" denounced the head of government on the sidelines of a trip to Seine-Saint-Denis, citing "tensions partly related to the very intense effort that we deliver with regard to drug trafficking".
