Sources close to Giuseppe Conte describe a President strongly determined to oppose the attempt to pass this as the 'tax maneuver'. It is a maneuver - stresses Palazzo Chigi - that has avoided the already planned VAT increase of 23 billion, which would have had a negative impact on consumption and on all families. The reality is that the maneuver is strongly redistributive, gives money to the citizens. The maneuver gives money to companies with Impresa 4.0, gives workers more money in payroll with a 3 billion cut in the tax wedge, eliminates the super ticket, gives 600 million to families and free nurseries, gives money to people with disabilities, strengthens the research system, does not touch the flat tax for VAT numbers or citizenship income and quota 100, gives 3 billion super bonuses to citizens who use credit cards. It cannot be described as a 'tax maneuver' only due to the presence of some specific and limited measures aimed at protecting the environment, the health of citizens and giving a green address to the country, such as the plastic tax and the reduction of tax relief tax on the most polluting company cars.

Regarding the plastic tax, the President of the Council still intends to meet the companies involved and industry experts to have a comparison aimed at making these measures even more effective and sustainable, possibly reducing the impact. In the belief that these are measures that represent the clear will of the government to initiate a green turn, but at the same time do not want to have a punitive purpose.
