Shenzhen (dpa) - World Ranking First Ashleigh Barty has crowned her outstanding tennis year with the title at the WTA Finals in Shenzhen.

In the final, the 23-year-old Australian won 6: 4, 6: 3 thanks to a strong performance against defending champion Jelina Switolina. All five previous games against the Ukrainian had lost to Barty.
