Social media pioneers in Saudi Arabia have circulated a video showing a young man kidnapped at gunpoint in a Riyadh neighborhood.

The video shows the abductor rolling, threatening his victim with a machine gun, and holding him in the trunk by force despite the latter's pleading, before driving the kidnapper's car and withdrawing from the scene to an unknown destination.

The video drew condemned reactions to Saudi media outlets, where many demanded security for citizens, surprising that such attacks took place in the capital's neighborhoods.

A number of pioneers of communication sites demanded the security authorities to seize the young man, and everyone who helped him not to repeat such incidents in the future.

Hours after the video was released, the Riyadh police issued a statement confirming the authenticity of what was circulated about the incident.

The police announced that after the necessary security follow-up, they had managed to arrest the kidnapper and two other people who helped him to commit the crime.
