It is noted that the discharge was carried out during two sorties. They were preceded by aerial reconnaissance in mountainous and wooded areas in order to identify foci of fires.
"Ground control means confirmed the stop of the front of the spread of fire thanks to the skill of the crew," the statement said.
It is specified that the work to extinguish forest fires will continue on Sunday, November 3.
Earlier, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev instructed the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Emergency Situations to work out joint proposals to increase efficiency "in extinguishing forest fires using aircraft."
