It is clarified that according to an investigation by the Pakistan railway operator, the main cause of the incident was a gas leak and the subsequent explosion of two cylinders.

“It was found that the fire occurred after some economy class passengers started making breakfast,” said Ajaz Ahmad Buriro, executive director of Pakistan Railways.

He noted that a more detailed incident report with all the details of the investigation will be prepared by November 20.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the death of people on a train in Pakistan, saying that Moscow does not have information about the presence of Russian citizens among the dead and injured in the train.

The incident occurred on October 31.

It was reported that, according to preliminary data, the fire arose due to the explosion of a gas cylinder, which was used for cooking. According to eyewitnesses, the fire swept three cars.
