02 November 2019A large Atlantic depression, centered on the British Isles, conveys various impulses to our country, thus initiating a phase of bad weather in all the Italian regions, with more widespread and intense precipitation in the North and on the Tyrrhenian areas. Furthermore, the formation of a minimum on the ground on the western Italian seas will cause a general reinforcement of ventilation from the southern quadrants.

On the basis of the phenomena in place and expected, it was evaluated for tomorrow, an orange alert on Campania, on most of Lazio and on sectors of Liguria, Basilicata, Molise and Sardinia. Also assessed as a yellow alert on Tuscany, Umbria, Abruzzo, Molise, Veneto, in the sectors of Calabria, Lombardy, Sicily, Emilia Romagna, Marche, Puglia, Tuscany, Friuli Venezia Giulia and the remaining areas of Lazio, Basilicata, Liguria and Sardinia .

On the basis of the available forecasts, the Civil Protection Department in agreement with the regions involved - which are responsible for activating the civil protection systems in the territories concerned - issued a notice of adverse weather conditions. The weather phenomena, impacting on the different areas of the country, could determine hydrogeological and hydraulic criticalities which are reported, in a national summary, in the national criticality and alert bulletin that can be consulted on the Department website.

From the night of today, Saturday 2 November, the warning includes widespread and abundant precipitations, including showers or showers, on Lombardy, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Emilia Romagna, Umbria, Lazio, Sardinia and Campania, in extension to the sectors Western Abruzzo, Molise and Basilicata.

Furthermore, from tomorrow morning, Sunday 3 November, it is expected that there will be persistent heavy precipitations, also of a downpour or storm, on Liguria and Tuscany. The phenomena will be accompanied by heavy rain showers, frequent electrical activity and strong gusts of wind.

From the early morning of tomorrow, strong south-westerly gale winds are expected, with gusts of strong storm, on the Apennine sectors of Lombardy and Emilia Romagna and on Liguria, Tuscany, Sardinia, Umbria, Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise, Campania and Basilicata. Sea storms along the exposed coasts.
