It was last Saturday that several young adults tried to get into the leisure yard, but when they were told to leave, they began to break things, according to staff.

Staff sounded alarm

The situation escalated so much that the staff had to press the alarm button. Both security guards and police were alerted to the leisure yard.

- It is always serious when it gets worried and the staff feels insecure. We continue to work with this event to create security, ”says Lena Rehnholm, area manager at Ung and leisure in Eskilstuna.

Will increase staffing

Following the mess at Nyfors leisure center, the management of the leisure activities in Eskilstuna has had a crisis meeting on the situation.

- We will do a risk assessment and do an analysis based on it. On Monday, the team will meet and then we will discuss this risk assessment and then we will look at an action plan going forward.

According to the area manager, the leisure yard will continue to be open just as usual, but you will be strengthened with more employees and a supervisor in place.

- It means that there will be more adults, but it also means that we have to look at how we work together and how we meet this at the earliest possible stage so that it does not escalate and become this way, says Lena Rehnholm.
