The text of Nebenzi’s speech at an open meeting of the UN Security Council on the situation in Kosovo is published on the website of the Permanent Mission of Russia.

“We demand an investigation and punishment of those guilty of this crime. We believe that the Security Council should strongly condemn this crime against UN personnel, ”said Nebenzya.

He noted that Russia agrees "with the conclusions of the UN representatives regarding the incident in northern Kosovo with the beating and detention of UNMIK employees by the Kosovo Albanian special forces on May 28" and added that "these findings are consistent with the results of the investigation by the Russian Investigative Committee."

“Our investigators found that the special forces had the goal of obstructing the legitimate official activities of Krasnoshchekov,” said the Permanent Representative of Russia.

In late May, Kosovo police special forces ROSU entered the northern regions of the region. As reported in Serbia, Kosovo law enforcement officers detained 28 people, including two UN employees, including Russian Mikhail Krasnoshchekov.

Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyansky noted that the Kosovo police acted out of provocative motives because of the elections, where the Serbian representatives won.

In turn, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that Moscow would not allow "braking" the crime committed against a Russian UN official who was injured on May 28 as a result of the actions of the Kosovo security forces.
