The man who is 40 years of age should have come into contact with most of the children via the chat function in the horse game Star stable. It involves 84 vulnerable children aged 7-14 and they are spread across almost the entire country.

- There are several cases in Värmland and all have been subjected to sexual offenses, says Chamber Prosecutor Marina Chirakova, who leads the investigation. For reasons of confidentiality, she does not want to say more than that about the warm-hearted cases.

Prosecuted for a variety of crimes

The criminal charges in the prosecution are numerous and deal with both attempted and completed crimes: rape against children, attempted rape against children, gross sexual abuse against children, attempted sexual abuse of children, gross exploitation of children for sexual posing, attempted exploitation of children for sexual posing, sexually abusive and child pornography crimes.

- On the part of the prosecutor's office, we take a very serious view of the crime of children online regardless of the heading, says Marina Chirakova.

The man has previously been convicted of similar crimes, but he denies all charges. He is in custody awaiting trial.

Released on foot - suspected of more crimes

According to the prosecution, the crimes he is now accused of have occurred during the period June 2017 until January 2018. At that time he was already sentenced to prison for sex offenses against 25 other children. Waiting to serve the prison sentence, he was released on par with the will of the prosecutors.

The game representatives have made the game safer

Jane Billet, communications manager at Star Stable, says in an interview in Rapport that some changes have been made to make the game safer.

- You can report a player directly in the game and you can also have a chat filter which means you can't say exactly what you want.

The trial in the case will be held in Stockholm District Court.
