California has been given the "extreme red-flagged" warning by meteorologists after several fires spread rapidly in the state since last week, CNN reports. In the southern part of the region, winds of hurricane strength are expected during Thursday.
- I don't think we've ever used this warning before. It's really serious, says meteorologist Marc Chenard.
For about $ 3,000 a day, private companies in California now offer emergency help to put out fires in one's environment, according to the New York Times. Even among the state's insurance companies, it has become common to recruit private fire brigades - only to protect the houses that are insured.
The Kardashian family paid for fire brigadesSome of the most affluent residential areas outside Los Angeles have suffered fires in recent years. Including Malibu, Calabasas, Bel Air and Hidden Hills. During last fall's forest fire, "Woolsey", at least 400 homes in Malibu were destroyed.
Nearly 2,000 households in the Hidden Hills state were forced to evacuate on November 8, 2018. Among the Hidden Hills live, among others, the well-known Kardashian family and artists Drake and Jessica Simpson.
In connection with last year's fires, US TMZ reported that Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West hired private firefighters to save their homes and neighborhoods.
- They saved our home and our area. I made sure they checked every house, so it wasn't just my home that I said they would take care of. I said "take care of everything," Kardashian West said in Ellen DeGenere's TV show later last November.
Afterwards, several neighbors thanked the family for their efforts, according to TMZ. However, according to other residents and officials in the city, no such fire brigade was in place. Former Mayor Steve Freedland argued, among other things, that the story would be untrue.
The Kardashian West family has not wanted to comment on things after that, the New York Times writes.
