The President drew attention to the issue of shortage of medical personnel in the region, noting that he was more than in the whole country.

“You have training centers, increase your admission there,” RIA Novosti quoted Putin as saying.

Alikhanov noted that the incidence of diseases of the circulatory system is decreasing in the region, and the oncology center should be completed in about a year.

The head of the region also spoke about the solution of the housing problem among healthcare workers, noting that work is underway to privatize housing in order to give this housing to doctors in a few years.

Putin advised the governor to give apartments to people employed in the healthcare sector for free.

“Of course it's free, only that way,” Alikhanov answered.

Earlier, the Russian leader said that the funds allocated to support primary health care are insufficient.
