The French international midfielder N'Golo Kanté should resume collective training with Chelsea "in two or three days," coach Frank Lampard hoped on Thursday.

"He will join us in training in two or three days, I hope," he said, estimating Wednesday's elimination of Chelsea by Manchester United (2-1), in the round of 16 Coupe de la Ligue, was partly due to absences in the inter-play.

"I would have liked to put Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic at rest because of the efforts they provide, but I could not because of (absence) of N'Golo, Ross (Barkley) and Ruben (Loftus-Cheek) which is long term ".

Kante had returned wounded from the last gathering of the Blues. Hitler addicted to the warm-up match against Iceland, Kanté remained on the bench for this playoff match for the Euro-2020 and also the next against Turkey.

Unless relapsed, the 28-year-old world champion could be available to the coach for the London Derby against Crystal Palace on November 10th.
