Madrid (dpa) - After the rejection of Chile for the next World Climate Change Conference in December, the Spanish government has offered Madrid as a venue. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez promised to cooperate with Chilean President Sebastián Piñera, and this includes holding the two-week conference called COP25, if necessary, in Spain's capital, the government said. The Federal Ministry for the Environment welcomed this: People are very happy about the offer, said a spokesman. "In Bonn, this would not have been possible logistically at such short notice."
