The President of the Republic is in a Thursday of the conservative weekly "Valeurs Actuelles". In a long interview, Emmanuel Macron explains about immigration, and reveals the roadmap he wants to follow on this subject.

After the debate on immigration organized in Parliament at the beginning of the month, Emmanuel Macron outlines the measures he wants to take in a long article of twelve pages at the magazine Valeurs Actuelles . The interview, granted by the Head of State in the plane back from his visit to Reunion, before the attack on the Bayonne Mosque, shows a determined president on this hot topic.

A muscular policy of deportation to the border

At first, Emmanuel Macron is martial: "my goal is to get out all the people who have nothing to do there," he says. The head of state wants to beef up his policy of deportation to the border. Pushed to provide a quantified target, he warns against the risk of countries of origin refusing the consular visa required for return. Emmanuel Macron intends to tell these countries that without a laissez-passer, France will issue "no more visa".

Emmanuel Macron also mentions State Medical Aid, a subject he wants to "settle quickly". They target "people who come with a tourist visa, who stay three months and go to the AME", cases "indefensible" according to the President of the Republic, who defends "to have the speech of the National Gathering" . But most importantly, the head of state wants to change the PUMA, the universal health benefit, to which every asylum seeker right as soon as his file filed. Emmanuel Macron wants "a waiting period" before they can touch this help. Finally, the President of the Republic reaffirms his attachment to the right of asylum, which he wants to "break the bypass channels".

It will be up to the Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe, to formalize these measures. They should be announced in about ten days.
