Västerås City and Region Västmanland have entered into a cost-technical guarantee for the festival. This means that every principal guarantees to pay a maximum of SEK 2 million.

- Of course, it is nice to have cultural events and the Performing Arts Biennale is happy to arrange in Västerås. But taxpayers should not have to see the care money go away for a festival that is primarily aimed at already active people in the cultural sector. It is also an event concentrated to Västerås, the residents of Skinnskatteberg and Arboga should not be forced to pay for this, says Tomas Högström (M), opposition council, in a press release.

- I know that Västmanland's theater is working hard for the festival to burden taxpayers as little as possible, says Markus Lindgren (MP), chairman of the cultural committee.

The festival will be in Västerås in May 2021

According to the organizer, the event is Sweden's largest performing arts festival, and is held every two years at one of Scensverige's affiliated theaters. The festival was held this year in Sundsvall and Härnösand. The festival comes to Västerås in May 2021 and lasts for one week.
