At the beginning of October, the trial began against the man charged with shooting at Ersboda in Umeå on January 23 this year, where one man lost his life and three others were seriously injured. The prosecutor pleaded for life imprisonment for the shooting and a series of minor crimes while the defense wanted to see the man released.

During the process, the prosecutor's main witness did not first appear, and then withdraw his appointment of the 30-year-old completely. After the negotiations were concluded, the suspect was released on the free trial by the district court.

"It indicates that he will be acquitted," said prosecutor Andreas Nyberg in a comment to SVT then.

Sentenced for theft and drug crime

And so it became. According to the district court, it cannot be said with certainty that the man fired the shots and therefore released him from the charges relating to the shooting. However, he is being convicted of a number of other crimes, including theft and drug offenses.

The man is therefore sentenced to six months in prison.
