In the farm Torp outside Kisa in Östergötland, they lived a normal farming life with two young children, but in a few seconds everyday life was thrown over for Mary and her family.

Magnus was hit by a train that was traveling at 100 km / h when he was going to work, he was killed in the violent crash.

The transition is unprotected. There are no bars, flashing lights or signals that warn of trains. On the other hand, the rules say there should be sufficiently good visibility, at least ten seconds.

But Magnus only had eight seconds to see the train and get over, which is too short according to the Swedish Transport Administration's own rules.

The shortage was known by the authority even before the accident, but had not been rectified.
