30 October 2019Valentino Talluto is responsible for the crime of very serious injuries for having infected dozens of partners with the HIV virus. This is the decision of the first criminal section of the Court of Cassation which also ordered the defendant to appeal against a more severe sentence than that - 22 years of imprisonment - pronounced against him by the Court of Assizes of Rome appeal in December 2018.

The new Appeal process, limited to a few points, including the acquittal in second instance in relation to four incidents that had been contested had been requested by the Attorney General of the Cassation, Pasquale Fimiani, in the trial before the judges of the I criminal section of the Cassation for Valentino Talluto, accused of knowingly infecting with HIV about thirty girls through unprotected sex. To present the appeal to the Cassation, in addition to the same Talluto, there were some civil parties and the Attorney General of the Capital who asked to recognize the malicious epidemic. Request not accepted by the Pg.

Valentino Talluto, since 2006, has infected his partners with unprotected sex. Talluto had been sentenced in the first degree on 27 October 2017 to 24 years in prison when the judges had found him guilty of the crime of serious injuries but not of that of a malicious epidemic. On 11 December 2018 the sentence was then reduced to an appeal to 22 years for very serious injuries with possible fraud and acquitted by the Court of Assizes of Appeal for 4 cases of girls who had been infected by him according to the indictment. Today the new sentence and the request for an appeal process bis to evaluate a more severe sentence.
