When Sissela Bremmers was 19, her father took his life. The following years were a tough time when Sissela herself struggled with depression and planned her own suicide attempt. Today she works preventively with her instagram account "nusnackarvi" and with volunteer work for Suicide Zero and SPES.

Want to raise awareness

According to her, there is support that suicide prevention measures such as jump protection at high bridges can make a difference. Partly to raise the awareness of those who cross the bridge that suicide is something that occurs in society at large. But also for the individual.

- For people who are suicidal, it is in many cases an impulsive act. The jump guard can do so that the person can think for a while, can live one day and people in the surroundings can see this and go ahead and ask the person how they are doing, she says.

In the clip, based on accepted advice and his own experience, Sissela Bremmers tells you how you can act if you see someone you suspect is planning to take their life.
