October 29, 201914.12 The Guardia di Finanza has defeated a gang held responsible for planning robberies in banks and shops and for detention and drug dealing between Rome and Rieti. Nine people arrested, one under house arrest. The group was headed by Lorenzo Saracchini, a 65-year-old multi-accused, established in the Roman criminal scene. Author of a robbery in a villa at the Eur in 2010, he fled to Spain and then extradited to Italy in 2012, where he continued to plan robberies, then foiled.
