At a meeting held in Västerås on Tuesday, the Joint Supply Chain Committee decided to instruct the administration to sign agreements with other distributors that can be used within four weeks.

- It has been argued that we should terminate the current agreement immediately, but this is not a viable route. We cannot act on impulse, as it risks exacerbating the situation in the affected regions and also cause problems in other parts of Sweden. We have a great social responsibility on this issue, says Behcet Barsom (KD), chair of the Supply Chain Committee in a press release.

Works with different solutions

- We are now working on two parallel tracks. One is to be able to continue with the procured distributor, provided they get order in their deliveries. The second is to prepare new permanent solutions, which can be put into operation with a short start distance.

The decision basis for new agreements must be based on the business need and include a legal and financial analysis.

- Supply of goods is already working intensively to find alternative solutions, but now the work is entering a new phase. We want a concrete backup solution for the five regions together and we have set aside funds to make this possible, says Behcet Barsom.
