It was at 17 o'clock on Wednesday that an X-ray nurse was seriously injured when he was taken into magnetic radiation in a mobile MRI cart.

The nurse wore some kind of weight vest and got stuck in the camera.

He was rescued by a guard who cut him off with a knife and ended up first at Sunderby Hospital's intensive care unit and then at a care unit.

- The X-ray nurse is no longer in Luleå, but has been discharged. He is home and feels much better now, says operations manager Ulrika Ask.

She neither wants nor can comment more on the injury situation because of the preliminary investigation confidentiality.

- But since he is discharged and allowed to come home, there is no greater danger with him, she says.

"Empties the magnet"

On Tuesday, three of Aleri's medical technicians arrived in the parking lot outside Sunderby Hospital to begin the shutdown of the magnetic radiation in the mobile MRI cart.

Only after that can the police's forensic technician be able to start his investigation into suspected work environment crimes.

According to medical technician Heimir Snorrason, it is a process that takes between three to five hours.

- We drain the magnet on energy in orderly form without emptying it on helium. Then we also close the magnetic fields, he says.
