15 years ago, Deborah Elaine Deans, a waitress mother of four, disappeared from overnight without trace in Spring Hope. The authorities of North Carolina (USA) searched her relentlessly after the complaint made by her mother a few days later, but did not find her whereabouts. The case was forgotten due to the lack of progress of the researchers. But a few days ago, on October 20, it was finally resolved thanks to Facebook.

Specifically, it was thanks to the Facebook page 'Fighting Crime News and Who's Wanted' , dedicated to finding clues about unsolved crimes and disappearances through the collaboration of users of the social network. And it was one of these users who provided the group administrator, who wants to maintain anonymity, the details of the exact place where Deborah was buried. Thanks to this information, the agents were able to detain the former sister-in-law of the 29-year-old waitress after finding Deborah's body buried in her backyard. Now, 49-year-old Kimberly Hancock is being held and charged with first-degree murder, the Washington Post reports.

Nash County Sheriff Keith Stone confirmed that they had found the body "in a shallow tomb wrapped in debris in the backyard" and that the clue provided by the user of 'Fighting Crime News and Who's Wanted' was "very precise and very reliable "since" it perfectly detailed the envelope and how Deborah's body was buried ".

The authorities already questioned Kimberly in her day, as she shared a flat with the waitress and two of her children . In his statement, he said that Deborah had left home leaving two of the children , a baby and a 5-year-old boy, after an argument with her. His other two children were living with his grandmother when the events occurred.

According to Kimberly, Deborah called someone to pick her up in a car, which she did not remember make, model or color. She also explained that the missing woman called her two months later to ask her to return her children and that she replied that she would solve it with the county's social services, according to Sheriff Stone. After the disappearance, two of the children remained with their grandmother and the other two entered a children's home.

The administrator of the Facebook page that has managed to shed light on a case that seemed never to be resolved has confirmed to the local television WTVD that on October 20 a new post was uploaded with the photograph and description of the disappeared waitress , at as it usually does with other old cases without resolving. He had never received any clue in this particular until two days later he received an email with the vital information about Deborah's whereabouts that he later delivered to the agents.

"I discovered that many people do not like talking to law enforcement because they are scared," this woman who considers herself an "unpretentious wife of Nash County" told WTVD. He did not want to reveal his identity during the interview since he does not want to be a public figure .

Deborah's life was never a path of roses. He entered prison at age 18 for shooting his father in the face with a 25-caliber pistol while he slept. He was six years old since his charges were reduced after learning that his father had abused her. But the young woman stepped on jail a few years later for issuing checks with no bottom checks. And it was when he tried to channel his life when the tragedy that ended with an unsolved disappearance happened, until Facebook and its page 'Fighting Crime News and Who's Wanted' appeared.
