The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has unveiled the latest therapeutic techniques for Parkinson's disease in the world, an injection pen injected by the patient every morning, eliminating the symptoms of the disease completely, enabling him to practice his life normally, in addition to a small pump placed under the skin to supply According to the Chairman of the World Congress of Neurology and Consultant Neurologist at Rashid Hospital, Dr. Suhail Al Roken.

Al-Roken explained to Emirates Today that the innovative technology is an injection pen, which the patient uses daily after waking up. He finds his body in a stagnant state and suffers from the symptoms of the disease, to resolve these symptoms within two minutes of receiving treatment.

He said that 90% of the causes of Parkinson's disease are still unknown globally, while medical research spotted three main causes of this disease, namely, the genetic factor, the practice of violent sports, which is subjected to many blows in the head, in addition to the proven cause of some chemicals used as insecticides , And exposed to human, in the disease.

He said that the Authority has a specialized clinic, which is the first of its kind in the country, which treats Parkinson's disease, and serves about 250 patients, the total number of patients with the disease in the Emirate of Dubai.

Al-Roken stated that the Authority has also introduced, within its modern therapeutic techniques for the treatment of Parkinson's disease, a new small pump, which injects a medicinal substance under the patient's skin, facilitates his movement and enables him to exercise his daily activity without any obstacles.

He pointed out that Parkinson's disease to this day is not fully cured, but there are drugs that help his patients to coexist socially, and improve the quality of life for them, and their ability to exercise their work normally, as well as exercise in case they want to.

During the World Congress of Neurology currently held in Dubai, and continuing until 31 October, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) reviewed 22 scientific researches focused on various neurological diseases, including rare cases treated by doctors of the Department of Neurology and Brain at Rashid Hospital.

She stressed that the active participation of the Authority's doctors in this specialized global conference reflects the scientific value of this research and its importance in reaching innovative procedures and therapeutic methods that serve patients.

Al-Roken pointed out several scientific papers and researches presented by the Authority's physicians during the conference on various topics related to peripheral nerve damage, pituitary inflammation, epileptic focal resection surgery, and the review of many rare medical conditions studied at Rashid Hospital.
