In Algeria, at the 3rd of the judicial strike movement, most courts and courts in the country are idling and some are paralyzed. In the capital, this protest movement has a significant impact on the trials of those known as the Berber flag detainees: dozens of people arrested in June in protests and held in prison ever since.

Their relatives, lawyers, activists and supporters were in the hall of the court. The six detainees were taken from El Harrach Prison where they have been in custody since June. But the judges did not show up.

On Tuesday, the first verdict expected in Algiers in the case of detainees of the Berber flag has been made. And the trials of other detainees scheduled for this week will probably be postponed.

Algerian magistrates have started a strike throughout the country after the announcement of a vast movement of unprecedented mutation : 3,000 judges are involved, or 3/4 of the profession. The Minister of Justice justified these changes by the need to fight against corruption.

In several rallies across the country, the judges denounced this argument, saying it stigmatized the profession. But above all, the strikers denounce the conditions under which the mutations are made. They are asking the interim president to intervene.

And all those who have been arrested in the demonstrations will have to wait for the movement to end for the proceedings to proceed.
