The accident happened at 21.30 on Tuesday evening. A passenger car drove into the center rail. No person was injured, but traffic is severely affected.
The E4 was turned off completely in both directions.
"We are cleaning up the roadway and we will salvage the car," says Pär Mossnelid, interim leader at Norrhälsinge rescue service.
Traffic in the northbound lanes is estimated to be closed until 22.10, in the southbound direction at approximately 22.20.
