Britain is on the verge of holding early elections in December, with the opposition Labor Party saying on Tuesday it would support Prime Minister Boris Johnson's plan in this direction, seeking to break the political impasse caused by the Brexit process.

Johnson is trying to get Britain out of the deep crisis surrounding Brexit, which was supposed to happen on Thursday.

But, unable to secure parliamentary support for his agreement with Brussels, he had to abandon his pledge to secede at all costs on time, and was forced to apply for an extension from Brussels until the end of January.

The inability of Britain to disengage half-century-old engagement with the European Union to stop the expensive preparations for the option of leaving without agreement, including a project to mint a commemorative coin for the occasion worth fifty cents.

What is Johnson's plan now?

  • Johnson is trying to win a majority that would allow him to go ahead with the passage of Brexit laws.
  • His third attempt on Monday to get parliament's approval to secede early and hold a general election on December 12 failed.
  • But he made a new presentation of the same date on Tuesday using a parliamentary measure that would require only a simple majority - a vote on the election date.
  • "This council cannot keep this country hostage," Johnson told lawmakers after dropping his proposal Monday.

A big boost to the plan .. How?

  • The new plan received a major boost when the main opposition Labor Party leader Jeremy Corbin announced its support.
  • "I have consistently said that we are ready to hold elections, and our support depends on the withdrawal of Brexit without agreement from the table," Corbin said Tuesday.
  • "In the next three months, our condition of withdrawing an option without agreement has been met," he said. "We will now launch the most ambitious and radical campaign for real change that our country has never experienced."

When will the elections be held?

  • Johnson insists on December 12.
  • Democrats in favor of staying in the European Union and the Scottish National Party propose a December 9 date.
  • Labor also favors the second option because late history reduces the number of liberal students casting their ballots because their classroom is over and returning home for the winter break.
  • Johnson is primarily concerned about amendments that could be attached to the bill, including proposed options for amendments such as expanding voting rights for EU citizens, a group strongly opposed to Brexit, and another option that would lower the voting age from 18 to 16.
