There are many wild boars in Sweden. Therefore, a solution has been found: To serve wild boar meat to students at schools in Norrköping.

- We know that we need to shoot wild boar for the stem to increase. And this is still food that we can eat and that we can serve in the schools, says Ingrid Kalm, who is food manager in the municipality of Norrköping.

"Hard to get hold of"

Why haven't you served wild boar meat before?

- It has been difficult to get hold of. And we have been guided by procurement. But in the long term, the plan is to be able to serve wild boar meat to all school pupils now and then, says Ingrid Kalm.

Four schools have tested

The schools that have now been tested for meat are Råsslaskolan, Klingsborgsskolan, Vikbolandsskolan and Skarphagsskolan. Meat producer Oskar Danielsson hopes to be able to deliver locally produced meat to schools four to five times a year.

- I hope you do a targeted procurement of game meat so that it will be easier to deliver, he says.
