The long-term goal of X-traffic is to get 200,000 new travelers to choose the bus in front of the car. And the changes that have been made are that the regional buses have received more tours, mainly between Hudiksvall, Ljusdal and Delsbo but also between Hudiksvall and Iggesund. It is then half-hour traffic that begins to apply between the resorts.

- On the main lines, city buses will get denser, later and more trips on the weekends. We will also change the line network on the city buses so that the trips become smoother and will go a little faster, says Hans Gyllow, planning manager at Hudiksvalls municipality.

Why are you making these changes?

- The main thing is to get more people to travel by bus, to travel sustainably. We have been working on this for a long time and better late than never, ”continues Hans Gyllow.

Criticism and parking spaces

In practice, the changes also mean that some bus stops will disappear and others will be added to scattered places. Something that caused irritation among residents. Further criticism has been directed at the removal of parking spaces in central Hudiksvall to make room for the central bus stop for regional buses at Bankgränd and Skvallertorget - which should make it easy for travelers to switch to city buses.

In order to compensate for the centrally located parking lots that have been rebuilt, some 20 new parking spaces have been arranged, including at the railway park.
