Haiti is sinking deeper into the crisis. For two months, the popular demonstrations have multiplied in the main cities of the country to demand the resignation of the president. A new parade of detractors of Jovenel Moses was held yesterday in the capital Port-au-Prince, which also saw a police demonstration, a first of its kind in this context of socio-economic tensions. Two people died on the sidelines of these demonstrations.

Their faces masked, the police participating in the protest are afraid of retaliation and do not want their identities to be made public. But all testify to their low wages and lack of social security.

" Everyone who works is supposed to have a union to defend it, but we in the police do not want to be created, they forbid it. Our salaries are very, very miserable, we do not have insurance: we only have one card but at all hospitals, we have to pay. We are not here today to tell the authorities to leave, we are here to think about us, the police, because we are not robots. We have children of wives, we need to live in good conditions too. "

On the same road, but a few kilometers below, the detractors of the president also walked on the tarmac Sunday, always with the same claim as testifies Patrick Faustin: " Jovenel Moses is told to resign immediately. He still refuses to hear. Today, it is all sectors that tell Jovenel Moses that he can no longer run the country. "

The tension was strong when the two processions crossed. Several police officers shot in the air. Of unknown origin, bursts larger than the weapons of the police also resonated, from a corridor adjacent to the course of events. A man was shot dead and his attacker was lynched by the angry mob. Following these moments of panic and tension, several businesses and vehicles were set on fire.
