It is mainly about wild boar and deer shot by the local hunters, the municipality writes in a press release.

- To begin with, we will buy three animals a year as so-called withdrawals. If the project turns out well, we will see if we will buy more animals and in the future we may also serve game in our preschools and schools, but we will start by serving dishes based on game meat for residents in the Copper Swan. Right now we are reviewing which dishes are most suitable to make based on the animals we get, whether it is deer or wild boar, says Jenny Pettersson, diet manager at Åtvidaberg.

The municipal chefs will receive training in game knowledge, cutting, cooking and more. The municipality believes that meat from game has a lower climate impact and that there is plenty of game around Åtvidaberg.
