The government has announced that it will remove South Korea's facilities on Mount Kumgang.

The Ministry of Unification said today (28) that it has sent a notice to North Korea's Asia-Pacific Committee and the Kumgang International Tourism Bureau in the name of the government and Hyundai Asan, suggesting a working-level talks between the two Koreas.

The government said it would discuss tourism issues with Mt. Kumgang, including those raised by North Korea, at the inter-Korean talks, noting that tour operators would accompany them.

The Ministry of Unification said that unilateral measures on the company's property rights need to be reasonably resolved through sufficient consultations between the two Koreas, as they can be placed in public sentiment and undermine inter-Korean relations.

The Ministry of Unification also stressed that the government's consistent position is that all issues of inter-Korean relations must be resolved through dialogue and consultation.
