“We must understand that if there is no transit, then the Ukrainian economy will lose 3-4% of GDP,” Vitrenko said.

He emphasized that this is a "very serious economic loss."

Earlier, Ukrainian Prime Minister Aleksey Goncharuk noted that heating in some cities of Ukraine may arise if a new contract for the transit of Russian gas is not signed.

Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said at a meeting with Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev that the company had notified Ukraine of the need to resolve litigation before entering into a new contract.
