If the Socialist Party still has more than 250 cities with more than 10,000 inhabitants, major cities such as Lille, Rouen, Brest, Le Mans, Strasbourg, Avignon and of course Paris are among the last bastions left of more than 100,000 inhabitants. To try to keep them after the next municipal elections, the PS is negotiating a mutual support agreement with the Communist Party, but discussions are also underway with environmentalists.

"These negotiations are not secret, I confirm that I want the broadest possible agreements, which combine the forces of the left and the environmental forces, because together we have the capacity to be the first pole in the democratic life of France.
