In early January this year, the County Administrative Board knocked on the cocoa owner for an animal welfare check. The County Administrative Board was then able to find that the dimensions of the bird cage did not match the requirements, according to the animal welfare legislation.

Pet birds are in need of being able to have a great deal of freedom of movement and a large space to move around in order to feel good. The owner was therefore required to remedy the problem with a larger aviary.

Several statements

When the County Administrative Board made a check in April, it was still too small a cage, and the owner was placed to fix it - again.

The owner told in a later contact with the County Administrative Board that a larger aviary would be completed in June. During a visit in August, there was still no large bird cage in place.

Should fix the problem immediately

Now the owner of the albacaku pigeons is threatened to pay SEK 10,500 in fines, unless a larger bird cage is purchased. And this should happen immediately, since it has a great significance from the point of view of animal welfare why it can no longer be delayed.
