The state of California has suffered wildfires in strong winds.

California Governor Gavin Newsom declared a statewide emergency yesterday in local time. The evacuation order has reached 200,000.

Earlier this evening, California's largest utility, Pacific Gas & Electric PG & E, implemented preventive forced outages for 2.3 million people in 36 counties.

The most serious of the wildfires is in Sonoma County, the northern wine country, where the fires are spreading rapidly, with gusts of up to 129 kilometers per hour.

The fire, which began on the 23rd, struck about 121.4 km2 and burned 79 structures.

The fire department says it has evolved with 30,000 people, but only 10 percent has evolved.

Strong winds are expected to continue today.

Authorities are concerned that forest fires will spread beyond Route 101 to the west, a region that has not suffered from wildfires for the past 80 years.

Meanwhile, another wildfire in the San Francisco Bay Area threatens residential neighborhoods.

Forest fires temporarily shut down nearby highways and evacuated residents.

Wildfires in the Santa Clarita region of northern Los Angeles evolved about 65 percent as of today, carrying 18 structures.

The 50,000 residents who were evacuated had returned home most of the wind.

The cause of the wildfires that hit California is still unknown.

PG & E said the 230,000-volt transmission line had malfunctioned just before the fire last night.
