The Global Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Competition, hosted by Dubai, with 191 countries, concludes today with the announcement of the winning team.

The second day of the qualifying phase concluded yesterday, with Kazakhstan in first place, and organizing 141 games, while the final elimination competition with the participation of 32 teams.

Participants in the tournament praised the level of professional organization witnessed in the competition held in Dubai, describing it as the best in the history of the tournament, expressing their pleasure at the facilities provided by the organizers, reflecting the spirit and trends of the Year of Tolerance in the UAE.

The Minister of Education, Hussein Al-Hammadi, stressed the State's endeavor to be in the leading position in all fields, pointing to the Ministry's continuous endeavor to develop educational curricula in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which needs a new generation armed with special skills and abilities to enable it to compete globally.

He pointed out that the UAE attracts the best minds and hosts the biggest competitions and performances in support of the vision of leadership towards diversifying the economy and enabling knowledge, adding that his ministry launched in 2014-2015 the school system of the UAE, which changed the curriculum system, within the framework of Fits with modern educational thought.

For his part, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Thani Zyoudi, stressed the importance of the slogan of the Global Competition for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, «Protecting the Oceans», as an issue of concern to all countries of the world.

He added that the ultimate goal of the competition is to employ technologies to find solutions to future challenges, especially marine pollution, which has been one of the most important challenges in recent years, and will be one of the most important international discussions in the next phase.

He explained that the UAE's hosting of the First Global Competition helps employ the best technologies to solve these problems.

Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, confirmed that there were 700 volunteers who participated in the World Robotics and Artificial Intelligence competition.

Abdul Aziz Al Jaziri, Executive Vice President of Dubai Future Foundation, told Emirates Today that the competition is the best among the competitions organized by First Global with the same certificate.

He added that the UAE is pursuing a consistent strategy to build a knowledge economy based on knowledge and artificial intelligence.

The tournament focuses on the success of competing teams in developing robots capable of performing a range of tasks, which support solutions to global efforts to protect the oceans, and cleaned of millions of tons of waste and pollution sources, which affect marine life and human health around the world.
