According to investigators, the disappearance of the child became known on the evening of October 24.
Law enforcement agencies immediately organized a search for the girl, as a result of which the 30-year-old local resident who was holding the child near garages in one of the city districts was detained red-handed.
A criminal case was opened on the fact of the crime.
“Today, at the request of the investigator, the court chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention for two months with respect to a person suspected of a crime against sexual integrity,” the department said.
Earlier in Saratov, a suspect was charged with the murder of nine-year-old Lisa Kiselyova, who disappeared on her way to school.
Her body was later discovered near garages.
The suspect said that he had committed a crime out of fear that the girl would tell adults that he had illegally settled in an abandoned garage.
