Many TER will be removed Sunday in Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur due to a strike, announced Saturday the SNCF.

A "local social movement", according to the SNCF, will cause the suppression of many TER between Sunday 5:00 and Monday 12:00. On the Marseille / Aix / Pertuis line, all TERs are removed, but bus connections should be provided, according to the SNCF website. Between Avignon TGV and Carpentras, the situation is the same: no TER, only buses all day Sunday.

The strike should not affect the link between Marseille and Cassis, provides the SNCF on Twitter, as part of the plan provided by the Region to offer free access to TER to all participants of the Marseille-Cassis running that takes place Sunday.

The Marseille-Miramas line will also be impacted.

Regional unions could not be reached on Saturday night.

A week earlier, a social movement broke out throughout France at the SNCF, drivers exercising their "right of withdrawal" after an accident occurred at a TER linking Charleville-Mezieres to Reims. The train struck an exceptional road convoy stuck on a crossing in the Ardennes, causing 11 injuries.

The driver, who rescued the passengers while he himself was injured, was the only SNCF agent on board the train, an unacceptable situation for the unions.
