The protest movement in Lebanon continues for the tenth day in a row to demand the resignation of the government and hold the political class accountable for the economic situation reached by the country.

On Saturday morning, protesters blocked roads in a number of Lebanese areas, especially the main roads from Beirut to the northern and southern governorates and some areas of Mount Lebanon.

Mazen Ibrahim, the head of Al-Jazeera's Beirut office, said the demonstrators were trying to keep up the momentum in order to force the ruling political class to reach solutions that would satisfy the angry street and at the top of their demands for the resignation of the government.

Ibrahim said that the movement seems to be dormant in the early hours of the morning and gain momentum at noon and in the evening as they cut off the roads to chop up the cities.

The reporter pointed out that there is a state of political intractability, pointing out that Prime Minister Saad Hariri has offered to resign to President Michel Aoun on condition that a government is formed of non-partisans, ie technocrats.
