- Where Väse is located today there was really nothing 150 years ago, it was mostly swamp land and forest. Then the community was all around the church, says Hans Wennberg, Väse hometown association.

But the railroad changed this and the society that emerged was a flourishing one.

- It was a community with full service. There were both bank, post office, district nurse and several shops here, says Hans Wennberg.

"There is a great commitment"

At that time, about 5,000 people lived in the Väse parish. Today there are about 2000 people, of which about 600 live in the community of Väse. But even though much of the community service has disappeared from the resort, there is plenty of future faith. In recent years, for example, Vilda Parken has emerged.

- I think there is a great commitment here. There are many people with good ideas. What is important is that there are opportunities to build housing, that there are good communications and services such as school and sports venues, says Hans Wennberg.

Sausage barbecue and candy rain

During the anniversary celebration, you will be able to, among other things, take a historical tip walk with questions about the old Väse. There will also be sightseeing trains around the park, there is sausage barbecue and candy rain in Vilda Parken and at Granberga elderly accommodation there is an exhibition with children's drawings with the theme Väse in 150 years.

How do you think that Väse looks in 150 years?

- Oh, it feels impossible to say it's such a long time, it feels a little far away. It's hard to say even in fifty years or five years. But Väse has a good location with good communications so I think there are good conditions for society to remain and be able to develop. But then it is up to the people who live here what you want.

How will it be to celebrate?

- It will be fun of course. A nice initiative. You have to take every opportunity to celebrate.
