Ten teams participate from all over Sweden, including Uppsala, Stockholm, Karlstad and Lidköping. And having access to ice time an entire weekend is a contributing reason why the cup was placed in Örebro, notes Ebba Wengström, cup manager.

- Yes, it's not easy to get to. The band sex is not always a priority if you say so, so now is the second time we are in Örebro, she says.

She hopes the audience finds the arena.

- Of course, girls need role models, many girls who want to play bandy are referred to boy teams today.

Pär Eriksson agrees. He represents ÖSK Bandy, but also helps on the youth side and is passionate about spreading the sport.

"Everyone should be able to play"

- We want everyone who wants to be able to play, whether it is elite or sports, and when we arrange ice skating for children between four and seven years, upwards of half are girls, he says.

- The basis is there, the interest in skating is great, and if we want to give the girls the opportunity to also play bandy, we must also create the conditions for it.

Bandy is a top sport for girls, he says, but today those who want to play bandy in Örebro referred to just boy's team.

Now, however, there is a clear goal, Pär notes:

- Yes, it is to start a team, this year or next year. It is not possible to keep the girls if they are not allowed to play with girls, not after a certain age. Then you lose them.
